Who are you?
My name is Eoin Smith. I’m a first year English student and writing is what I do.
What’s the significance of ‘The Lonely Staircase’?
It’s from a poem I wrote for my girlfriend called We. It’s basically about us sitting in this awesome cafe called Books & Beans where I live, and we like to sit at the window and watch the world go by together.
Why are so many of your poems and stories dark and depressing?
I suppose there are two reasons: my poems are written about how I am feeling at a certain time, and I really love crime fiction. Simple as that! Some of the newer pieces are lighter and more fun though, because my girlfriend complained I was too gloomy.
What inspires you?
My friends and family; music; magicians; comedians; teachers, lecturers and tutors; other writers; creativity in general; world events.
Thanks to everyone who has offered me advice and suggestions over the years. And more recently Aimee, Emma, Emma and PJ Tracy.
How do I contact you?
Leave a comment below, or on the piece you’re interested in. Alternatively, you can drop me an email here. I’ll endeavour to get back to your faster than a fast thing in fast town. But not on a fast day. Don’t be silly. There’s no such thing as a fast day…
When more be asked, more be answered.
